New headquarters supports Scanteak’s expansion, collaborations and retail innovation in Singapore.
Singapore furniture company Scanteak has opened its new 89,000-square-foot headquarters at Genting Lane, marking a new phase in its business after 52 years of operations. The company has grown from a single furniture store to more than 200 stores today.

The new headquarters provides Scanteak with additional space to develop its business and explore new approaches to retail. The facility also serves as a platform for collaborations with Singapore small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), designers and complementary lifestyle brands through rotating partnerships.

These collaborations allow Scanteak to test new retail concepts and innovations before expanding them more widely. The approach provides participating businesses and designers with opportunities to develop ideas within a retail environment while enabling Scanteak to assess new concepts.
The headquarters opening also saw the launch of MarketForward, a programme by the Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) in partnership with Enterprise Singapore. The programme aims to help Singapore furniture companies develop stronger business connections, sharpen their international positioning and expand into overseas markets.
Supported by Enterprise Singapore, MarketForward provides a platform for furniture companies to build capabilities and establish connections that can support their international growth. Its launch alongside Scanteak’s new headquarters highlighted the role of partnerships and new business approaches within Singapore’s furniture industry.
Scanteak’s latest development comes after more than five decades in business and reflects its continued expansion from its origins as a single furniture store. The company’s new headquarters combines its business operations with opportunities for collaboration, retail experimentation and engagement with other businesses in Singapore’s lifestyle and furniture sectors.
The facility also provides a setting for Scanteak to develop and assess new retail experiences before scaling selected concepts. Through collaborations with SMEs, designers and lifestyle brands, the company will continue to explore new ways of presenting products and engaging customers.
With support from Enterprise Singapore and the launch of MarketForward, the developments at Genting Lane also provide a platform for wider industry engagement and overseas growth among Singapore furniture businesses.
