Singapore’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry, Gan Siow Huang, hosted Mongolian Deputy Foreign Minister G. Amartuvshin. The diplomatic consultations focused on expanding trade, investment, and advancing green economy partnerships between the two nations.
Recently, Ms Gan Siow Huang, Singapore’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry, formally received Mongolia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, G. Amartuvshin. The Deputy Foreign Minister was in Singapore to attend high-level consultations between the respective foreign ministries of Mongolia and Singapore, setting the stage for advanced discussions regarding ongoing bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister Amartuvshin expressed Mongolia’s strong interest in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation across trade, the economy, and investment sectors. He highlight Singapore’s position as one of Mongolia’s key strategic partners within Southeast Asia, noting that Mongolia is actively seeking to diversify its external economic relations and build a more balanced, resilient economic structure.
Both sides warmly welcomed the notable growth in trade and investment ties observed over recent years. Singapore has steadily emerged as one of Mongolia’s major international investors, a relationship reinforce by the regular organisation of dedicated business events designed to actively promote cross-border commercial opportunities.
A focal point of the diplomatic dialogue was the progression of sustainable and environmental initiatives. Minister of State Gan Siow Huang highlighted the recent entry into force of an intergovernmental agreement regarding carbon market cooperation between the two nations. Her Excellency noted that this framework provides significant opportunities to expand collaborative efforts on carbon markets and green finance.
Ultimately, the meeting reinforced a mutual commitment to developing a strong green economy partnership. By leveraging Singapore’s financial expertise and Mongolia’s environmental goals, both nations have reaffirmed their dedication to working closely together to achieve sustainable, long-term economic growth.
