The Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) participated in SIM IGNITE 2026, engaging students through booth activities, discussions and an interactive quiz focused on opportunities in the manufacturing sector. The engagement provided students with an opportunity to learn more about manufacturing and share their views on the industry.

During the event, SMF introduced students to career opportunities in manufacturing and invited them to participate in an interactive quiz and sign-up activity. Representatives also spoke with students about their perceptions of the sector, including career opportunities, innovation and the role of manufacturing in everyday life.

The discussions provided an opportunity for SMF to hear students’ questions, interests and perspectives on manufacturing. The Federation said such conversations helped provide insight into how young people viewed the industry and how manufacturing could be made more relatable and visible to students.

SMF also thanked students who visited its booth, participated in the activities and engaged with its representatives during SIM IGNITE 2026. The Federation highlighted the value of continued engagement with students as part of efforts to encourage greater awareness of manufacturing and its potential career opportunities.

The engagement at SIM IGNITE 2026 will be followed by another student-focused activity at MedTech Day on 12 October 2026. The event will be held at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore.

SMF said it would continue engaging students through upcoming initiatives and opportunities connected to the manufacturing sector, providing platforms for young people to learn more about the industry and consider its role in their future careers.
