Australian officials discussed private capital investment links between Australia and Southeast Asia.
Australia participated in discussions on private capital and investment during SuperReturn Asia in Singapore, with Australian High Commissioner Mudie engaging Australian and regional investment leaders. The programme included an Australian Investment Council reception focused on investment opportunities between Australia and Southeast Asia, followed by the presentation of an award at the Singapore Venture & Private Capital Association Gala Dinner.
The Australian High Commission in Singapore said Australia was represented in discussions shaping the future of private capital in the region during SuperReturn Asia. The event provided an opportunity for Australian and regional investors to engage on investment relationships and the role of private capital in Southeast Asian markets.

Before SuperReturn Asia, High Commissioner Mudie hosted an Australian Investment Council reception for Australian and regional private capital leaders. The reception focused on opportunities to deepen investment partnerships between Australia and Southeast Asia.
The High Commission thanked Navleen Prasad and the Australian Investment Council for their role in facilitating the reception and connecting Australian general partners with local partners. The gathering provided an opportunity for participants from the investment sector to exchange views and develop professional connections.
High Commissioner Mudie also attended the Singapore Venture & Private Capital Association Gala Dinner, where he presented Sarona Asset Management with the “Gender Smart LP Investor of the Year” award. The award recognised Sarona’s activities in sustainable and impact investment in Southeast Asia.
According to the Australian High Commission, Sarona Asset Management managed Australia’s fund of funds, Australian Development Investments, which supported impact and sustainable investment activities in Southeast Asia. Australia also supported Investing in Women, which was involved in the inaugural award.

The gala dinner included participants from Singapore’s venture and private capital ecosystem. Australian investment representation was also reflected in the recognition received by Private Equity Partners, which won the “Buyout Deal of the Year” award.
The Australian High Commission welcomed the recognition of Australian investors by their Southeast Asian counterparts. The awards and reception provided opportunities for Australian investors and regional partners to engage during a week of private capital discussions in Singapore.
