Germany and Singapore commemorated 36 years of German Unity at Raffles Hotel
Germany and Singapore commemorated 36 years of German Unity at the iconic Raffles Hotel in Singapore, where guests attended an evening reception co-hosted by the Singaporean-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The event featured cultural performances, themed elements and the participation of Singaporean government representatives and Members of Parliament.

The reception provided an occasion to commemorate German Unity while highlighting links between Germany and Singapore. Guests were welcomed by the German hosts together with the Singaporean-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce for an evening programme that combined formal proceedings with cultural and entertainment elements.
The event featured an AI Photobooth as one of its interactive elements. A specially created “Berlin twist” on the Singapore Sling also featured during the evening, combining a reference to the German capital with Singapore’s well-known cocktail.
Minister of State Gan Siow Huang attended the reception as Guest of Honour. Members of Parliament Joan Pereira and Xie Yao Quan also attended the event.

The programme included performances by Alison Wong, Nigel Foo and Cave Quartet. The organisers expressed their appreciation to the performers and sponsors for their contributions to the evening.
The reception also provided an opportunity for members of the German and Singaporean business communities and other invited guests to participate in the commemoration. The Singaporean-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce served as co-host of the event, reflecting its role in supporting relations between businesses and institutions from the two countries.
