Deputy Assistant Secretary Brown focused on foreign relations, security, technology, and economic cooperation during her visit which included presenting keynote remarks at a Southeast Asia-U.S. partnership conference
SINGAPORE welcomed back Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) Melissa Brown, who visited the Republic to discuss U.S. policies that affect its relations with Singapore and Southeast Asia. The discussions covered a range of key areas, including foreign relations, security, critical and emerging technologies, and economic cooperation.
During her time in Singapore, DAS Brown gave keynote remarks at “The Southeast Asia-United States Partnership in 2024: Stabilizing, Empowering, and Enduring” Conference on 13th March 2024. The conference, jointly organized by the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute and Embassy Singapore, focused on strengthening the partnership between Southeast Asia and the United States.
DAS Brown’s visit highlights the importance of the relationship between the United States and Singapore, as well as the broader Southeast Asia region. It provides an opportunity for both sides to exchange views and explore avenues for further cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
