In response, the Bangladesh Armed Forces moved swiftly to establish an interim government, appointing Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Mr. Muhammad Yunus, as its leader. This decision was reached through a consensus among students, political parties, and the military.
Mr. Muhammad Yunus, renowned for his pioneering work in poverty alleviation through Grameen Bank, took the oath of office on Thursday, August 8th, 2024. He now heads a 17-member transitional government tasked with guiding the nation through a critical period. Mr. Yunus, known for his efforts to eradicate poverty through the Grameen Bank, is expected to bring stability and trust to the transition.
The transitional government is expected to create an inclusive, corruption-free and democratic Bangladesh in the future.
