Singapore, 18 September 2024 – Indonesia’s Minister of Investment and Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, underscored the critical role of collaboration in addressing global threats during the Milken Institute Asia Summit 2024, held in Singapore. Speaking as a panelist in the session titled “Encouraging Greater Collaboration,” Rosan highlighted that uncertainty remains the greatest risk to global geopolitical stability and emphasised the need for cooperative efforts across various sectors.

Rosan pointed out that by fostering collaboration in economic and political spheres, nations can offer greater certainty to investors. He framed this approach as pivotal to Indonesia’s vision of achieving “Golden Indonesia 2045.” The Milken Institute Asia Summit 2024, attended by international leaders from multiple industries, provided a key platform for discussing strategic partnerships and market opportunities amid the changing global economy.

He further referenced Indonesia’s peaceful general election in early 2024 as evidence of the country’s political stability, making it an attractive destination for investment. Rosan also highlighted the Indonesian government’s introduction of a Super Tax Deduction, which incentivizes companies engaged in research and development (R&D) and vocational training programs with tax reductions of up to 300%.

Addressing renewable energy, Rosan noted that Indonesia has a renewable energy potential of 3,700 GW, including solar, wind, hydropower, biomass, tidal, and geothermal energy sources. He emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships (PPP) to realize this potential and advance Indonesia’s green energy agenda. Rosan reiterated the government’s focus on enhancing human capital and transitioning to a green economy to boost the country’s global competitiveness.

The Milken Institute Asia Summit has become a leading platform for global leaders, entrepreneurs, and economists to exchange innovative ideas that propel economic growth. Rosan’s participation highlighted Indonesia’s proactive stance in addressing climate change, technological disruption, and post-pandemic resilience through collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors.
