India and Singapore convened their first Cyber Policy Dialogue on 17 October 2024, focusing on cyber threats, national strategies, and global cyber governance.

SINGAPORE, 17 October 2024 – The first Cyber Policy Dialogue between India and Singapore was successfully held, marking a significant milestone in bilateral cooperation on cyber security. Co-chaired by Mr. Amit A. Shukla, Joint Secretary for Cyber Diplomacy at India’s Ministry of External Affairs, and Mr. David Koh, Chief Executive of the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore, the dialogue facilitated an in-depth exchange of views on the evolving cyber threat landscape and the two nations’ national cyber strategies and policies.

During the discussions, both parties explored topics such as threat assessment, the latest developments in global cyber governance under the United Nations, and bilateral cooperation on cyber threat alerts and responses. The dialogue also served as a platform for exchanging experiences and best practices, particularly in the protection of critical information infrastructure. Joint initiatives, including capacity building and training activities, were identified as key areas for future collaboration.

This dialogue follows the India-Singapore Joint Statement issued during the visit of India’s Prime Minister to Singapore on 4-5 September 2024, which highlighted cyberspace as a central element in the digitalisation pillar of bilateral cooperation. The establishment of this dialogue reflects both countries’ commitment to strengthening their cooperation in cyber security and identifying practical areas for joint action.
