Key officials from Saudi Arabia and Singapore convened in Riyadh to discuss shared interests, enhancing cooperation and bilateral relations.

Riyadh, 2 December 2024 – A series of high-level meetings in Riyadh underscored the strengthening ties between Saudi Arabia and Singapore, as leaders from both nations engaged in discussions on mutual interests and regional cooperation.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Member, and Climate Envoy Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir welcomed Singapore’s Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security, Teo Chee Hean, to the Ministry’s headquarters. The discussions centred on shared priorities, culminating in a luncheon hosted in honour of the Singaporean delegation. Attendees included Director General of the Al-Jubeir’s Office, Ambassador Khalid bin Musaed Al-Anqari, and Singapore’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, S. Premjith.

Further cementing bilateral relations, Minister of National Guard Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz received Minister Teo Chee Hean and his team at his office. Their dialogue focused on enhancing cooperation and exploring areas of mutual benefit. Senior officials, including Maj. Gen. Saleh bin Abdulrahman Al Harbi, participated alongside representatives from the Singaporean delegation.

Minister of Defence Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz also held discussions with Minister Teo Chee Hean. The meeting addressed bilateral defence collaboration and broader regional and global issues. High-ranking officials, including Deputy Minister of Defence Prince Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf and Chief of General Staff Gen. Fayyad Al-Ruwaili, joined the session. Singaporean attendees included Ambassador S. Premjith, Deputy Director-General of the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia Francis Goh, and Deputy Chief of Mission Ivan Chia.

These engagements highlighted Saudi Arabia’s and Singapore’s commitment to fostering stronger diplomatic, economic, and security ties, paving the way for further collaboration in 2025 and beyond.
