The Indonesian Embassy in Singapore and HSBC hosted a forum to enhance economic cooperation and trade relations between the two nations, focusing on supply chain resilience and business opportunities.

The Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, in collaboration with HSBC, organized a business forum titled “Indonesia Update: Empowering ASEAN – Indonesia-Singapore Supply Chain Partnerships” to strengthen economic and trade relations between Indonesia and Singapore. The event was held at the Nusantara Room of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore and brought together key stakeholders from both countries.

The forum focused on the latest developments in Indonesia’s economy and policies designed to enhance global supply chain resilience, particularly within the logistics sector. It provided a platform for business leaders to engage in discussions about potential collaborations and future trade opportunities between Indonesia and Singapore.

Around 70 participants attended the event, including representatives from the Singapore government, multinational corporations, and Indonesian businesses operating in Singapore. Keynote speakers included Andria Buchara, Investment Attaché/Director IIPC; Charles Kho, Country Head of Global Network Banking, HSBC Indonesia; Jez Mcqueen, Southeast Asia Head of Sales at Maersk; and Allen Chan, Acting CEO of Guud Company. The discussions were moderated by Billy Anugrah, Trade Attaché at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, who addressed key challenges and opportunities in the bilateral business landscape.

Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, Suryo Pratomo, emphasized that ASEAN members must collaborate to enhance supply chain resilience in response to global economic shifts and technological advancements. He noted that the forum reaffirmed Indonesia and Singapore’s roles as vital economic partners in ASEAN’s future.

Riko Tasmaya, Director of PT Bank HSBC Indonesia, underscored the importance of strengthening the Indonesia-Singapore business corridor, highlighting its potential to drive regional trade growth. He stated that HSBC, with its 160 years of experience and extensive global network, remains committed to supporting businesses in optimizing supply chains and fostering cross-border cooperation.

The forum also provided valuable insights into Indonesia’s policies supporting key industries and strengthening bilateral trade relations. Discussions reinforced the significant potential for Indonesia and Singapore to grow together within ASEAN’s expanding economy.
