
Saudi Arabia’s national team achieves significant success at the 55th International Physics Olympiad in Paris.
PARIS, France – The Saudi National Physics Team has secured four medals at the 55th International Physics Olympiad, which concluded today in Paris. The prestigious competition, held from July 17 to 25, brought together 425 students from 85 countries worldwide.
Mazen Al-Shakhs distinguished himself by earning a silver medal for the Kingdom. Additionally, Hussein Al-Saleh, Mohammed Al-Arfaj, and Ali Al-Hassan each contributed to the national triumph by securing bronze medals.
These recent accolades elevate Saudi Arabia’s cumulative achievements in the International Physics Olympiad to a total of seven silver medals, 23 bronze medals, and 22 certificates of appreciation. This consistent performance highlights the nation’s growing prowess in scientific disciplines.
The success of the Saudi team is attributed to intensive training provided by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba). This initiative is conducted in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education and Saudi Aramco.
