India’s hydrographic survey vessel sets sail from Changi after a meaningful port call, deepening maritime cooperation and camaraderie with Singapore
The resounding horns of INS Sandhayak echoed across the waters of Changi Naval Base, marking the end of a successful and symbolic port call in Singapore. As the Indian Navy’s advanced hydrographic survey ship sailed onward, it left behind not just wake trails but a deeper imprint of friendship, mutual respect, and maritime cooperation between India and Singapore.

This maiden visit of INS Sandhayak to Singapore served as more than a ceremonial gesture. It was a powerful statement of the enduring ties and growing synergy between the maritime forces of the two nations. Throughout its stay, the crew engaged in a series of professional exchanges, collaborative activities, and goodwill engagements with their counterparts in the Republic of Singapore Navy and other maritime agencies.

Hydrographic survey ships like Sandhayak play a vital role in mapping the ocean floor, ensuring navigational safety, and supporting humanitarian and disaster relief efforts. Its visit was not only a demonstration of India’s naval capability but also a celebration of the shared maritime heritage that binds the two nations together.
As the ship continues its journey, it carries with it the spirit of collaboration that defines India–Singapore defence ties, a partnership that continues to grow stronger with every exchange, every handshake, and every sail hoisted in unison.
