New Delhi, 13 August 2025 – The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, received a high-level ministerial delegation from Singapore at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. The delegation, led by H.E. Mr Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, is in India to participate in the third India–Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR).

Welcoming the delegation, President Murmu highlighted the strength and resilience of the India–Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, even amid global uncertainties. She recalled the recent State Visit of President Tharman Shanmugaratnam earlier this year, held in celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations. She emphasised that regular high-level engagements—such as the ISMR—continue to infuse new energy into the multifaceted relationship.

The President also expressed her deep appreciation for Singapore’s principled stance against terrorism, especially following the tragic attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. She noted that such solidarity reinforces the values and trust that underpin the India–Singapore partnership.

Reflecting on the broad scope of bilateral cooperation, President Murmu reaffirmed Singapore’s central role in India’s Act East Policy, MAHASAGAR Vision, and Indo-Pacific Vision. The two countries enjoy vibrant ties across trade, defence, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. She further welcomed the ongoing expansion into new and future-facing areas such as skills development, the green economy, and FinTech—areas where both nations are poised to lead.
