RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — The third edition of the World Defense Show (WDS) is scheduled to be held from 8 to 12 February 2026. The event, held under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, will be opened by Minister of Defence Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. WDS aims to strengthen its position as a leading international defence event, supporting the Kingdom’s goal of localising 50 per cent of its military expenditure by 2030.

The General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) Governor, Ahmad Al-Ohali, expressed gratitude for the leadership’s support. He highlighted that this patronage aligns with the strategic objectives of Vision 2030. “This commitment to innovation and cooperation exemplifies our dedication to fostering global partnerships, leveraging our strategic location, and harnessing the Kingdom’s industrial capabilities,” Al-Ohali stated. He added that the collective effort is “shaping the future of defence, ensuring stability and growth for our nation.”

The 2026 show will build on the success of previous editions. WDS CEO Andrew Pearcey said the event creates an environment where “the global defence supply chain can meet, share ideas, and do business.” The exhibition will expand with a fourth hall, increasing its total space by 58 per cent compared to the inaugural show in 2022. This expansion will enhance cooperation and the overall visitor experience.

The previous WDS in 2024 saw significant engagement, with 773 exhibitors from 76 countries and 441 official international delegations. It facilitated deals worth SAR 26 billion and attracted 106,000 trade visits. WDS 2026 is poised to continue this growth, serving as a catalyst for leaders, innovators, and emerging talent to guide the defence industry’s future.
