The “India–Singapore @60: Partnership for Growth & Engagement” business session was successfully held on 4 October 2025 in Singapore, commemorating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore. The landmark event was co-organised by FICCI, CII, and ASSOCHAM, bringing together senior government officials, business leaders, and investors from both nations to reaffirm and expand bilateral cooperation.

Delivering the keynote address, Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, highlighted the transformative progress made over the past six decades and the immense potential for the future. He emphasised that India–Singapore relations stand on the pillars of trust, mutual respect, and shared commitment to sustainable and innovation-driven growth. Shri Goyal outlined opportunities for deeper engagement across areas such as digitalisation, skills development, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, and connectivity, reflecting India’s ambition to be a global hub for sustainable and inclusive growth.

Ms Gan Siow Huang, Minister of State, Ministry of Trade & Industry, Republic of Singapore, reaffirmed the close and longstanding partnership between the two countries. She underscored the importance of continued collaboration in trade, investment, and innovation, highlighting Singapore’s role as a gateway for Indian enterprises expanding into ASEAN and beyond.

The session featured active participation from leading figures in government and industry, reinforcing the robust nature of bilateral economic ties. It also explored new avenues for collaboration in emerging sectors such as green energy, digital transformation, technology, skills development, and infrastructure financing, underscoring the shared vision of advancing sustainable growth and regional integration.

On the sidelines of the business session, Shri Goyal held a series of bilateral meetings with global investors and corporate leaders. Notable discussions included Mr Wong Kim Yin, Group President & CEO of Sembcorp, on renewable energy and green hydrogen; Mr Loh Chin Hua, CEO of Keppel Corporation, on real estate and digital connectivity; and Mr Gautam Banerjee, Chairman of Blackstone Singapore, alongside his senior colleagues, on expanding Blackstone’s India portfolio. Dialogues with Mr Jim Coulter of TPG, Mr Marcus Wallenberg of Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken, and Mr Jean Salata and Mr Jimmy Mahtani of EQT Asia further explored opportunities in finance, advanced industries, and technology.

A significant highlight of the visit was Shri Goyal’s meeting with H.E. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, President of the Republic of Singapore, at the Istana. The discussion reaffirmed the strength of the India–Singapore strategic partnership, rooted in shared values and a common vision for innovation, sustainability, and global cooperation.

The visit concluded with an interactive engagement with the Indian business delegation, where discussions aligned investor expectations with India’s policy priorities. Participants reaffirmed Singapore’s role as a trusted partner in India’s growth journey and expressed confidence in expanding collaboration across finance, technology, energy transition, and sustainable infrastructure, paving the way for the next chapter of India–Singapore engagement.
