Founded in 1969 as a small, semi-mechanised factory producing spring roll pastry for local markets, TYJ has grown into a global leader in the frozen foods industry. After acquiring the company in 1977, Dr Goi transformed the business by automating key production processes, significantly increasing capacity while maintaining consistency and quality. Under his leadership, TYJ expanded its footprint by targeting major gateway cities around the world, paving the way for its international success.

Today, TYJ exports more than 90% of its renowned Spring Home products to markets across Europe, North America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. The company operates world-class production facilities in Singapore, Malaysia, China and the United States, supported by distribution networks spanning over 80 countries. The Senoko facility showcased TYJ’s commitment to innovation, efficiency and product excellence. In addition to its flagship offerings, the brand’s growing portfolio now includes Happy Belly, Masterchef and Ryushobo, each providing convenient and wholesome frozen food options. Food safety and stringent hygiene standards remain central to TYJ’s operations.

The visit was organised by Dr Bill Foo—former CEO of ANZ Bank Singapore, investor, adviser to various enterprises and board director at several leading companies. The South African High Commission extended its appreciation to Dr Goi and the TYJ team for their warm hospitality, as well as to Dr Foo for facilitating the visit. The High Commission expressed its interest in exploring further trade and investment opportunities, highlighting the potential for future collaboration between South Africa and TYJ.
