Singapore and Australia continued to deepen cooperation under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) 2.0 through the successful launch of their first Third Country Training Programme aimed at enhancing cyber resilience in Southeast Asia. The programme, held in Singapore, focused on strengthening regional capabilities in cybersecurity incident preparedness and response.

Participants from across the region underwent hands-on training to improve their ability to detect, manage and mitigate cyber incidents. The initiative reflected the shared commitment of both countries to support ASEAN’s efforts in building a secure and trusted digital environment amid rising cyber threats.

Ambassador for Cyber Affairs and Critical Technology Jessica Hunter and Australia’s Deputy High Commissioner to Singapore Emily Follett addressed participants during the course. They highlighted that cybersecurity was a shared responsibility, emphasising that effective response strategies required strong partnerships, information sharing and mutual trust.

Singapore welcomed Australia’s continued collaboration in supporting regional digital security and capacity-building. Both sides reaffirmed that joint initiatives such as this programme would help strengthen regional resilience and safeguard the digital infrastructure that underpins economic growth.

The programme formed part of the broader CSP 2.0 agenda, through which Singapore and Australia are working to advance cooperation in cyber, technology and critical infrastructure.
