The Philippine Embassy in Singapore reaffirmed its commitment to ending Violence Against Women (VAW) as it joined the nationwide 18-Day Campaign, held annually from 25 November to 12 December. The Embassy emphasised the importance of safeguarding the rights and welfare of Filipino women abroad, many of whom may face heightened risks of violence, exploitation, and discrimination.

In line with its mandate, the Embassy highlighted the support available through its Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Section, which provides essential services such as case assessment, emergency assistance, referral mechanisms, and guidance on legal rights. These efforts are further strengthened by the crucial partnership of the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) Singapore and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Singapore, both of which work closely with the Embassy to assist Filipinas in distress.

The Embassy reiterated that the Philippines, as a global advocate for gender equality, consistently champions the protection and empowerment of women and girls across bilateral, regional, and international platforms. This commitment extends to its overseas missions, which serve not only as service providers but also as safe and supportive spaces for women seeking help.

By taking part in this year’s campaign, the Embassy called on the Filipino community in Singapore to raise awareness, support survivors, and promote a culture of respect and equality. The nationwide initiative continues to be a vital reminder of the collective responsibility to prevent and address all forms of violence against women.

The Embassy invited the community to join the 18-Day Campaign from 25 November to 12 December 2025 to further advance efforts toward a safer and more inclusive society for women.
