The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) participated in the second ASEAN–US Maritime Exercise from 9 to 13 December 2025, with the deployment of its Victory-class Missile Corvette, RSS Vigour. The multilateral exercise was co-hosted by the Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL) and the United States Navy (USN), involving all 11 ASEAN Member States and eight participating ships from ASEAN countries and the US.

The exercise comprised a shore phase in Batam, Indonesia, followed by a sea phase conducted in waters east of Bintan. During the exercise, participating navies worked jointly on a simulated maritime incident involving a man overboard, conducting coordinated search and rescue operations to locate and recover the individual.

The operation was supported by the RSN’s Information Fusion Centre through its Real-time Information-sharing System (IRIS). The web-based platform enabled participating navies to exchange operational information in real time, enhancing situational awareness and facilitating effective coordination during the maritime incident response.

In addition, RSS Vigour conducted a range of drills with other participating vessels during the sea phase, including manoeuvring exercises, search and rescue serials, damage control exercises, and communications exchanges. These activities contributed to strengthening interoperability and professional exchanges among the participating navies.

Singapore’s participation in the exercise reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with ASEAN partners and the United States to enhance regional maritime security cooperation, build mutual trust, and promote stability in regional waters.
