On 19 December 2025, Ms Chonthee Chanratchakul, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, led officials and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore, together with agencies under Team Thailand and their spouses, in a volunteer activity held within the embassy grounds. The initiative was organised in commemoration of the anniversary of the birth of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, National Day, and Father’s Day, observed on 5 December 2025.

The activity involved the planting of household vegetables and herbs at the embassy premises as a symbolic and practical gesture of dedication and service. The initiative reflected the values of sufficiency, cooperation and community spirit associated with the late monarch’s enduring legacy.

In addition to honouring the auspicious occasion, the activity yielded practical benefits, as the harvested produce can be shared and utilised collectively by all participating agencies. This approach reinforced sustainability while encouraging shared responsibility among the embassy community.

The volunteer programme also played a key role in strengthening unity and camaraderie among officials and staff from various Team Thailand agencies. By working together in a hands-on activity, participants fostered closer interpersonal ties and a stronger sense of teamwork.

The plants cultivated during the activity included mint, holy basil, sweet basil, chilli plants, sawtooth coriander, Chinese celery, lemongrass and papaya, reflecting commonly used ingredients in Thai cuisine and underscoring cultural identity through everyday practices.
