Rwanda High Commission in Singapore commemorates 32nd anniversary of the Genocide against the Tutsi
Mr Innocent B. Muhizi, High Commissioner of Rwanda to Singapore, led a solemn event commemorating the 32nd anniversary of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The ceremony honoured the memory of victims and reaffirmed commitments to remembrance and unity.
The event brought together over 250 participants, including members of the diplomatic corps, Singaporean government officials, members of the Tanglin Club, friends of Rwanda, and the Rwandan community in Singapore. The gathering reflected broad international and community participation in commemorating the occasion.
The commemoration served as a platform to reflect on the historical significance of the genocide and to promote awareness of the importance of peace, reconciliation, and prevention of future atrocities.
The High Commission emphasised the importance of continued remembrance and collective responsibility in fostering understanding and resilience across communities.
The event underscored Rwanda’s ongoing engagement with the international community in promoting dialogue, education, and shared values of peace and unity.
