The meeting focused on international legal cooperation and multilateral engagement between South Africa and Singapore
South Africa’s Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Mr Alvin Botes, received a courtesy call from Ms Rena Lee at the OR Tambo Building. Ms Lee currently serves as Singapore’s Ambassador for Oceans and Law of the Sea Issues and is Singapore’s nominee for the International Court of Justice for the 2027–2036 term.
The meeting formed part of ongoing diplomatic engagements between South Africa and Singapore aimed at strengthening cooperation on multilateral affairs and international legal frameworks. Discussions were held within the context of broader engagement on global governance and international institutional cooperation.
The engagement also reflected ongoing dialogue between the two countries on issues relating to international law, diplomacy, and global governance structures.
