The Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore highlighted Thai cuisine as a form of soft power during a special Northern Thai culinary showcase at Aloft Singapore Novena.

Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore, Chonlatee Chanrachakul, visited the “Jai Aroy” Northern Thai Buffet at Aloft Singapore Novena on 5 May 2026.

The visit took place at the invitation of Mr Tan Kim Seng, General Manager of Aloft Singapore Novena.

The food festival is a collaboration between Aloft Singapore Novena and Marriott Hotel Chiang Mai, represented by Chef de Cuisine Wuttivong Boonsong.

The showcase brings authentic Northern Thai, or Lanna, flavours to Singapore and highlights Thai cuisine as an important form of cultural diplomacy and soft power.

The initiative also aims to strengthen cultural appreciation and people-to-people ties between Thailand and Singapore through food and hospitality.

The Royal Thai Embassy said it remains committed to supporting partnerships that promote Thai cultural excellence and strengthen diplomatic relations through culinary experiences.

The “Jai Aroy” Northern Thai Buffet festival will run until 21 June 2026.
