
Two Singaporean scholars have received the Australian Award for 2026, strengthening education ties and people-to-people links between Singapore and Australia.
Singapore’s newest recipients of the Australian Award for 2026, Daphne Tan and Carissa Chan, have been recognised for their pursuit of higher education in Australia.
Ms Daphne Tan will pursue a Master of Environment and Sustainability, while Ms Carissa Chan will undertake a Master of Management specialising in finance.
The awards were presented by Australia’s Foreign Minister Penny Wong, who commended the scholars for contributing to the longstanding friendship between Australia and Singapore through education and stronger people-to-people connections.
The scholarship programme reflects the close bilateral ties between the two countries and supports academic exchange, leadership development, and international collaboration.
The award also highlights the importance of education partnerships in strengthening regional cooperation and building future leaders across diverse sectors.
