Singapore is accelerating efforts to help businesses adopt artificial intelligence (AI), strengthen cybersecurity, and improve digital capabilities, with a strong focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Speaking at the opening ceremony of ATxEnterprise 2026, Mr Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State for Digital Development and Information, said Singapore is focused on moving beyond AI “buzzwords” and helping enterprises apply AI in practical and meaningful ways.

Mr Tan highlighted the progress made under the Digital Enterprise Blueprint (DEB), launched in 2024 to support businesses in adopting AI, improving digital systems, strengthening cybersecurity resilience, and upskilling workers. He said more than 26,000 SMEs have already benefited from the programme, surpassing the halfway mark of the government’s five-year target of supporting 50,000 SMEs.

According to Mr Tan, digital adoption among Singapore enterprises has become nearly universal, with 96.4% of businesses adopting at least one digital solution in 2025, compared to 84.6% in 2019. AI adoption among enterprises also increased significantly, rising from 4.3% in 2023 to 23.5% in 2025.

The minister highlighted examples of companies benefiting from AI and cybersecurity initiatives. Castlery developed a generative AI-powered shopping assistant with Amazon Web Services and Axrail, reducing customer response times by 34%. Meanwhile, UEI Logistics strengthened its cyber resilience after vulnerability scans conducted by ST Engineering identified security gaps.

Mr Tan also announced two new DEB partners. Grab will help SMEs improve AI literacy and adoption, while RSM Stone Forest IT will launch a phishing simulation programme to improve cybersecurity awareness among SMEs.

He also launched the AI for Enterprise Impact Playbook, designed to help businesses assess AI readiness and identify government support programmes.
