
African diplomatic missions in Singapore met to coordinate initiatives and strengthen cooperation in support of shared regional priorities.
The Group of African Heads of Diplomatic Missions accredited to Singapore held a meeting on 13 May 2026 to discuss cooperation among African diplomatic missions and opportunities to strengthen engagement with Singapore. The meeting brought together representatives from South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria and Rwanda, with discussions focusing on advancing shared priorities and enhancing collaboration among African countries represented in Singapore.

The meeting was hosted by the High Commission of Rwanda under the leadership of High Commissioner Innocent B. Muhizi and chaired by South African High Commissioner Madiepetsane Charlotte Lobe, Dean of the Africa Group. Egypt Ambassador Ahmed Mostafa and Nigeria High Commissioner Adam Umar Bako also attended the meeting. The engagement formed part of ongoing consultations among African diplomatic missions accredited to Singapore and provided a platform for participants to exchange views on matters of common interest, strengthen diplomatic cooperation, and discuss opportunities to further enhance Africa–Singapore relations.
The Group discussed opportunities to enhance Africa’s strategic engagement with Singapore and to expand partnerships with Singaporean stakeholders. Participants exchanged views on initiatives to strengthen institutional, diplomatic, and economic linkages between African countries and Singapore.
In addition, discussions covered efforts to promote Africa as an investment destination and to strengthen the continent’s position within global value chains. Participants considered opportunities for greater engagement with businesses, institutions and other stakeholders to support economic cooperation and partnership development.
