Delegation met Royal Thai Embassy officials and participated in regional conservation engagements, including a study visit to Mandai Wildlife Reserve
A delegation from the HRH Princess Sirivannavari Thai Coral Reef and Marine Life Conservation Foundation visited Singapore from 2 to 6 June 2026 to participate in marine conservation activities and strengthen regional cooperation. Led by Admiral Suvin Jangyodsuk, Vice Minister attached to the Prime Minister of Thailand and Vice President of the Foundation, the delegation met with Mrs. Chonlatee Chanrachakul, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore, and took part in an international symposium focused on marine mammal conservation.

On 2 June, the delegation visited the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore and held discussions with embassy representatives. The visit coincided with the delegation’s participation in “The Symposium of Asian Marine Mammal Stranding Week,” which was jointly organised by the Foundation and the Asian Marine Mammal Stranding Network (AMMSN) from 3 to 5 June 2026 at the Singapore Oceanarium.
The symposium marked the first time that the Asian Marine Mammal Stranding Network Symposium and Workshop was organised under a co-hosting arrangement. The event provided a platform for researchers, conservation practitioners, policymakers, and stakeholders to present research findings, exchange experiences, and discuss challenges related to marine mammal stranding incidents. Discussions also focused on developing regional and international policy recommendations aimed at supporting the recovery of endangered marine species and advancing the sustainable restoration of marine ecosystems.

More than 100 participants from 20 countries attended the symposium, including representatives from ASEAN member states and experts from around the world. Participants included researchers, field practitioners, government agencies, private-sector representatives, and organisations engaged in marine conservation and environmental protection.
Thailand’s role as co-host contributed to strengthening the capabilities of marine conservation personnel and expanding international cooperation networks in the field of marine biodiversity protection. The participation also highlighted Thailand’s commitment to advancing regional collaboration on marine conservation and the protection of rare and endangered marine species.
On 6 June, the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. joined the delegation on a study visit to the Mandai Wildlife Reserve in northern Singapore, operated by Mandai Wildlife Group. During the visit, the delegation toured the Wildlife Healthcare and Research Centre (WHRC), an integrated facility that provides preventive and clinical veterinary care for animals within the wildlife parks as well as rescued wild animals requiring treatment and rehabilitation. The visit offered insights into Singapore’s wildlife healthcare, conservation management, and research practices.
Established on 22 July 2020, the HRH Princess Sirivannavari Thai Coral Reef and Marine Life Conservation Foundation was created to support the conservation and restoration of Thailand’s marine resources. The Foundation works to promote public awareness of marine conservation, sustainable resource management, and ecosystem restoration. Led by the Royal Thai Navy and supported by government agencies, private-sector partners, and subject-matter experts, the Foundation continues to advance collaborative initiatives based on scientific principles and relevant legal frameworks.
