Held annually as part of SAF Day commemorations, the Combined Rededication Ceremonies brought together NSmen, employers, government leaders, and business organisations to recognise the contributions of National Service and reinforce the importance of continued support for Singapore’s defence. The ceremonies were organised by four business organisations: the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI), the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (ASME), the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), and the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF).

Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing officiated at the ceremony organised by the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry at the SCCCI Building. In his closing remarks, he expressed appreciation to the business community, servicemen, women in service, and their families for their collective contributions to Singapore’s security.

Mr Chan noted that the efforts of those serving in defence and supporting National Service enabled Singaporeans to enjoy peace and stability despite an increasingly uncertain global environment. He emphasised that maintaining “every normal day, every ordinary day” in Singapore required the extraordinary dedication of many individuals working behind the scenes.

An SAF Day commemorative video highlighting the dedication and professionalism of SAF servicemen and women in safeguarding Singapore’s way of life was screened simultaneously at all four ceremony venues.

Minister for National Development Chee Hong Tat, Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and Minister for Health Ong Ye Kung, and Minister for Social and Family Development Masagos Zulkifli officiated at the ceremonies organised by ASME, SBF, and SMF, respectively.

First introduced in 1987, the SAF Day Combined Rededication Ceremonies continue to serve as an important platform for Operationally Ready NSmen and their employers to reaffirm their commitment to National Service and reflect on their shared responsibility in safeguarding Singapore’s sovereignty. The annual observance also highlights the vital role of community and employer support in sustaining Singapore’s National Service system and ensuring the nation’s long-term security.
