The Philippine Embassy in Singapore, led by Ambassador H.E. Medardo G. Macaraig, together with its attached agencies, formally bid farewell to Second Secretary and Consul Ms. Jhullie Anne A. Beniahan, who concluded her six-year tour of duty in Singapore on 14 July 2026. Embassy officials recognised her dedicated service and significant contributions to advancing Philippines–Singapore relations and strengthening engagement with the Filipino community throughout her posting.

Having arrived in Singapore in July 2020, Consul Beniahan served in several key capacities during her assignment. Before assuming her current role as Head of the Political and Economic Section, she led both the Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Section and the Filipino Community Relations Section, overseeing a wide range of initiatives aimed at supporting Filipino nationals and enhancing community outreach.

Among her most notable achievements was leading the ATN Section during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when the Embassy provided critical assistance to Filipinos in Singapore. She also spearheaded the Embassy’s quarterly Ugnayan engagements with members of the Filipino community, served as the Embassy’s focal person for Gender and Development (GAD) initiatives, and contributed as a writer to the Embassy’s first publication, Making A Mark on the Little Red Dot: Trailblazing Filipino Entrepreneurs in Singapore. Most recently, she completed the Embassy’s comprehensive compendium of bilateral agreements between the Philippines and Singapore, which was officially launched on 10 July 2026.

A career diplomat with more than a decade of experience in the Philippine foreign service, Consul Beniahan previously taught philosophy at the Philippine Military Academy, Miriam College, and De La Salle–College of St. Benilde before joining the Department of Foreign Affairs. Her diverse professional background has contributed to her work in diplomacy, public service, and international cooperation.

In his farewell remarks, Ambassador Medardo G. Macaraig expressed his appreciation for Consul Beniahan’s professionalism, dedication, and outstanding service during her posting in Singapore. He wished her every success in her new assignment at the Department of Foreign Affairs, acknowledging her valuable role in strengthening bilateral relations between the Philippines and Singapore while fostering closer ties with the Filipino community.
