New trade platform expands Indonesian export opportunities.
Indonesia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) has launched “We Buy From Indonesia,” a technology and trade platform aimed at boosting Indonesian exports by mapping domestic supply chains and connecting Indonesian exporters with international buyers. The initiative was unveiled in Jakarta on July 31 as part of efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s role in global supply chains.
Kadin Chair Anindya Novyan Bakrie presented the initiative to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto during a meeting between national and regional business leaders and government officials at the State Palace.
Describing the initiative as more than an online catalogue, Mr. Bakrie said the platform combines trade data and technology to help businesses identify export opportunities, strengthen supply chain visibility, and expand access to overseas markets.
According to Kadin, Indonesia records around US$300 billion in annual exports, with approximately US$240 billion generated by manufactured products, industrial components, and other non-core exports beyond the country’s major commodity exports, such as coal, palm oil, and stainless steel.
Mr. Bakrie said Indonesian-made products are already integrated into global supply chains across industries including automotive, aerospace, furniture, and consumer goods. By mapping exporters and their supply networks, the platform aims to make it easier for international buyers to source products from Indonesia while helping local companies identify new business opportunities.
The initiative also seeks to encourage repeat orders from existing overseas customers and support domestic manufacturers in expanding production capacity to meet growing global demand. The “We Buy From Indonesia” platform and its official materials are available in Indonesian, English, and Mandarin to improve accessibility for international users.
Kadin is working closely with Indonesia’s Trade Ministry to validate trade data and ensure the platform serves as a trusted national reference for export development. According to Kadin, the initiative is intended to improve market access for Indonesian exporters, support domestic businesses in reaching more international buyers, and strengthen Indonesia’s participation in global supply chains.
