India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Piyush Goyal, continued his engagements in Singapore with discussions ranging from sustainable infrastructure, financial technology, agricultural exports and investment. The meetings followed the 4th India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR), which set priorities for the next phase of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Minister Goyal met Ms. Cindy Lim, CEO of Keppel Infrastructure, to discuss infrastructure and sustainable development. He highlighted India’s commitment to encouraging investments and partnerships that support resilient infrastructure and sustainable growth.

Financial innovation and the digital economy were discussed during a meeting with Mr. Sopnendu Mohanty, Group CEO of the Singapore-based Global Finance & Technology Network. Minister Goyal and Mr. Mohanty exchanged views on opportunities arising from India’s financial ecosystem and Singapore’s global financial and technology network.
Indian food exports also took centre stage as Minister Goyal joined Singapore’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade & Industry, Ms. Gan Siow Huang, and other dignitaries at an APEDA-FairPrice roadshow-cum-in-store promotion. The initiative showcased organic products, fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, dairy products, cashew, rice, millet-based products and produce from different regions of India. The promotion sought to create new opportunities for Indian farmers and processed food manufacturers in Singapore, with potential to reach the wider ASEAN region and Australian market.

Minister Goyal also addressed INSEAD alumni and students, Singaporean entrepreneurs and Indian businesses at the India-Singapore Business Forum, where he interacted with Professor Sameer Hasija. He spoke about India’s economic growth and investment opportunities, as well as government efforts to improve the ease of doing business, while emphasising stronger business-to-business engagement with Singapore.
