Her Excellency G.Uyanga, Ambassador of Mongolia to Singapore, convened with key Singaporean officials to operationalise cooperation under the Paris Agreement. The strategic dialogue focused on green energy, reforestation, and connecting project developers with international investors.
On 18 September 2026, Her Excellency Ms G.Uyanga, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Singapore, received representatives from Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) and the National Environment Agency (NEA). The meeting marked a significant step in advancing bilateral environmental and economic initiatives between the two nations.
The primary focus of the discussion was the operationalisation of the bilateral cooperation agreement under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Delegates engaged in detailed conversations regarding the framework’s practical application, including the project application process, eligible sectors, and the approved methodologies required to move forward.
During the exchange, both sides reached a conclusion to cooperate extensively in supporting green-energy initiatives, reforestation, and various nature-based projects. A key objective identified was the necessity of connecting Mongolian project developers with Singaporean and international investors to ensure these sustainable initiatives are adequately funded and realised.
Furthermore, the officials hightlighting the importance of promoting technical knowledge-sharing and capacity-building between the two countries. By leveraging Singapore’s strong financial ecosystem and Mongolia’s wide natural resources, the partnership aims to create a mutually beneficial framework for environmental sustainability.
This meeting highlights the growing diplomatic and economic relationship between Mongolia and Singapore. As both nations continue to navigate the complexities of climate change, their collaborative efforts in carbon-market cooperation set a positive precedent for regional and international environmental partnerships.
