H.E. Waraphannee Damrongmanee, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, attended the UOB ASEAN & Greater China Heartbeat Charity Dinner in Singapore on 27 October 2026. The event celebrated the 50th anniversary of United Overseas Bank (UOB) and the 15th anniversary of its Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Advisory, which supports business development and investment connections in the ASEAN region.
The dinner was organised to recognise UOB’s five decades of operations and the contributions of its FDI Advisory over the past 15 years. The advisory initiative plays a role in connecting businesses and supporting their growth by facilitating investment opportunities and business networks within ASEAN.

Ambassador Waraphannee attended the occasion alongside fellow ambassadors and senior representatives from Indonesia, Viet Nam and Malaysia. Their participation reflected the regional engagement associated with the bank’s work in ASEAN and Greater China.
The evening also featured a charity fundraising initiative organised by UOB in collaboration with POP MART. Representatives of the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore had participated in the initiative on 14 October 2026, as part of the activities associated with the charity programme.
The event also provided an opportunity to acknowledge the relationship between Singapore’s investment activities and Thailand’s economic development. Singapore continued to be Thailand’s largest source of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in 2026, highlighting its position as an important investment partner for the country.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore extended its congratulations to UOB on the anniversaries and its continued success. The Embassy’s message recognised the bank’s contributions to facilitating business growth and investment connections in the region.
UOB’s 50th founding anniversary and the 15th anniversary of its FDI Advisory provided the occasion to recognise the bank’s activities in supporting business engagement between Singapore, ASEAN and Greater China. The participation of Ambassador Waraphannee also highlighted Thailand’s engagement with regional business and investment platforms in Singapore.
