Senior Minister (SM) and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean is in Hong Kong for a working visit from 29 May to 1 June 2022.

          On 1 June, SM Teo met Hong Kong Chief Executive (CE)-elect John Lee.  SM Teo congratulated CE-elect Lee on his electoral success.  SM Teo and CE‑elect Lee affirmed the warm and friendly ties between Singapore and Hong Kong, and took stock of bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas. They reaffirmed their commitment to keep up the good momentum of bilateral collaboration in the years ahead in line with the priorities of both cities, and welcomed closer cooperation between the two public services.  SM Teo expressed confidence that Singapore and Hong Kong would continue to progress together and contribute to the economic vibrancy of the region.  SM Teo and CE-elect Lee also exchanged views on developments in both cities and the broader region.  SM Teo also conveyed an invitation from Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong for CE-elect Lee to visit Singapore.

          SM Teo will depart for Singapore today.
