The Turkish Embassy in Singapore urged Singaporeans who wished to assist Turkey to make monetary donations through authorized channels.
Earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 struck Turkey recently, centered in the Kahramanmaras province, affecting more than 13 million people in ten provinces, including Adana, Adiyaman, Diyarbakir, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye, and Sanliurfa. According to recent reports, at least 31,643 people died.
As the earthquake-affected regions gradually change, new urgent needs are emerging, including those for winter tents, blankets, gas heaters, and generators. The Embassy no longer seeks in-kind donations because these requirements are incompatible with Singapore’s climate.
For those who wish to contribute to the ongoing relief efforts underway in Turkey, the Turkish Embassy encourages everyone to consider extending monetary donations through the below channels:
DONATION CHANNEL IN TURKEY:
THE PRESIDENCY FOR HUMANITARIAN AND EMERGENCY SITUATION MANAGEMENT
TURKISH RED CRESCENT
THE PRESIDENCY FOR RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS
