Dr Kao Kim Hourn, the first Cambodian to serve as Secretary-General of ASEAN, had a busy week which included a lecture, a commemorative reception and several courtesy calls with ambassadors and representatives of ASEAN’s external partners.
Students at the at the Universitas Pelita Harapan were privileged to enjoy an inspirational lecture on the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) from the perspective of ASEAN’s Secretary-General, Dr Kao Kim Hourn on March 13, 2023. Dr Kao also highlighted the need to maintain momentum in its implementation.
On March 14 Dr Kao Kim Hourn also delivered the opening remarks at the commemorative reception for ASEAN-India Friendship Year 2022, held to celebrate 30 years of partnership. The event marked the culmination of the designated year to celebrate the relationship between the two parties.
Dr Kao Kim Hourn also met with the Executive Director of ASEAN Center for Biodiversity as well as with ambassadors and representatives of ASEAN’s external partners in several courtesy call engagements.
