The External Affairs Minister of the Republic of India, Dr S Jaishankar, on an official visit to Singapore from 19 to 21 October 2023. This visit is poised to reaffirm the enduring and close-knit relationship between India and Singapore, which rests on a robust foundation of strategic trust.
During the visit, both sides will engage in a comprehensive review of their bilateral cooperation, with a special focus on exploring opportunities in emerging sectors such as digitalization and skills development. The India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable will serve as a platform for these discussions. Additionally, the visit will be marked by insightful exchanges of perspectives on prevailing regional and global developments.
Minister Jaishankar’s itinerary includes meetings with prominent Singaporean leaders. He is scheduled to call upon President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong, and Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean. Furthermore, Minister Jaishankar will engage with key figures in Singapore’s defense, foreign affairs, home affairs, and trade and industry sectors, including Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Home Affairs and Law K Shanmugam, and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong.
