The Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) announces collaborative efforts with Microsoft and Google to enhance national cyber security measures
DEPUTY Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, Mr. Heng Swee Keat, disclosed at the Opening Ceremony of the Singapore International Cyber Week held at Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore from the 16th to 19th of October 2023, that the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) will be establishing separate cooperative initiatives with industry giants Microsoft and Google. These efforts aim to fortify the nation’s cyber defence and cybersecurity capabilities.
The Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) inked during this collaboration will encompass various facets, including the sharing of cyber threat intelligence, joint operations to combat cybercrime and malicious cyber activities, exchanges focused on emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, and concerted efforts towards capacity building.
CSA emphasizes the significance of multi-stakeholder cooperation in cyberspace. Both states and industry entities bear a shared responsibility in constructing a stable and secure digital environment. These partnerships underscore Singapore’s unwavering dedication to closely collaborate with major industry players within the digital realm, with the ultimate goal of crafting a safer cyberspace accessible to all. CSA remains open to further collaborations with other key industry stakeholders.
Mr. David Koh, Chief Executive of CSA, affirmed, “Cyber defence is a collective endeavor. Major technology companies play a pivotal role in shaping our digital landscape, making them crucial partners in the realm of cyber defence and cybersecurity.
