Workshop aims to identify actionable strategies for empowering women in socio-economic development, aligning with G20 New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration.
NITI Aayog is set to host a workshop themed “Nari Shakti: Towards Women-led Development” on November 8, 2023 (Wednesday) at Park Hotel, New Delhi. This event marks the eighth in a series of G20 Feeder Thematic Workshops, addressing key topics outlined in the G20 New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration (NDLD). The workshop will benefit from the expertise of the Institute of What Works to Advance Gender Equality (IWWAGE) as its knowledge partner.
The workshop’s goal is to foster collaboration among experts, entrepreneurs, innovators, academia, think-tank representatives, and government officials dedicated to gender equality and empowerment. The aim is to chart a course forward and allocate the necessary resources to accomplish the objectives highlighted in the G20 New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration.
The event will be structured into four distinct segments, each focused on generating specific action points and strategies to realize the vision outlined in the NDLD:
- Women in the economy: Enhancing women’s economic and social empowerment Keywords: women’s empowerment, workforce participation, government initiatives, private sector involvement, resources for women in workforce.
- Women’s collectives: Strengthening SHGs, women-led FPOs, and rural women’s leadership abilities Keywords: self-help groups, FPOs, women’s leadership, decision-making, economic empowerment.
- Women and the future of work: Bridging digital and skilling gaps for access to jobs and strengthening women’s entrepreneurship Keywords: digital literacy, skill development, gender skill gap, women’s entrepreneurship.
- Legal safeguards for the empowerment of women Keywords: legal frameworks, women’s safety, empowerment, access to justice.
This workshop serves as a platform for industry leaders, academics, experts, and civil society representatives to collaborate and devise a comprehensive roadmap for achieving gender equality and empowerment.
