Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying Shri Parshottam Rupala is poised to open a two-day conference shaping the future of India’s Fisheries and Aquaculture sector
Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Shri Parshottam Rupala, will inaugurate the ‘Global Fisheries Conference India 2023’ on November 21st at Gujarat Science City in Ahmedabad. The conference, spanning November 21st to 22nd, will align with the global celebration of World Fisheries Day.
Conceptualized by the Department of Fisheries, the event aims to chart a course for the future of the Indian Fisheries and Aquaculture sector, fostering collaboration with stakeholders from the entire fisheries value chain. Commencing with an inauguration by Union Minister Shri Parshottam Rupala, the event will feature an Exhibition, Inaugural Session, Press Conference, International Roundtable, Technical Sessions, Industry Connect Sessions, and various bilateral discussions.
The International Roundtable, led by Union Minister Shri Parshottam Rupala, will include participation from foreign missions and international organizations, discussing sustainable fishing practices, aquaculture technologies, and resource management. Notable participants will include representatives from France, New Zealand, Norway, Australia, Russia, Spain, Zimbabwe, Angola, Brazil, Greece, UN-FAO, ADB, GIZ, BoBP, and MSC India, among others.
Anticipating over 5000 participants, the conference will host sessions covering Inland Aquaculture, Coastal Aquaculture, Mariculture, Deep Sea Fishing, aqua feed, fish health management, innovations, and emerging technologies. Simultaneously, Industry Connect Sessions will facilitate discussions on market insights, trends, and collaborations within the fisheries sector.
The G2G/G2B and B2B Bilaterals will provide an open forum for policymakers, experts, and industry stakeholders to discuss knowledge sharing and networking opportunities. The exhibition, featuring 200+ exhibitors, will showcase products, services, and innovations from startups, associations, co-operatives, SHGs, and SMEs in the fisheries sector.
In conclusion, the Global Fisheries Conference India 2023 is expected to gather perspectives from national and international stakeholders, identifying focus areas, opportunities, and partnerships crucial for the future development of the Indian Fisheries sector.
