US Ambassador to ASEAN, Yohannes Abraham, to visit Singapore from November 28 to December 1, 2023, as part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Distinguished Visitors Programme (DVP). This premier initiative aims to foster meaningful discussions between distinguished foreign dignitaries and Singaporean leaders, officials, and non-governmental institutions. Over the years, the DVP has played a crucial role in enhancing diplomatic relations with various countries and institutions.
During his stay, Ambassador Yohannes Abraham is scheduled to meet with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan and engage with several high-ranking Singaporean officials. The visit will also include interactions with Singaporean think-tanks and participation in roundtable seminars organized by the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies and the US-ASEAN Business Council.
The discussions are anticipated to cover a range of topics, further solidifying the United States’ commitment to engaging with the ASEAN region and enhancing bilateral ties between the US and Singapore.
