Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Gan Kim Yong, presided over the 2023 PEP-SBF Awards, honoring individuals and organizations for their remarkable contributions to Singapore’s pro-enterprise landscape
THE 2023 Pro-Enterprise Panel – Singapore Business Federation (PEP-SBF) Awards Ceremony took place on 29th November 2023, with Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Gan Kim Yong, as the Guest-of-Honour. This annual event applauds the successful collaborations and contributions of both private and public sectors in advancing Singapore’s pro-enterprise environment.
This year’s ceremony saw the presentation of 13 awards across four categories, recognizing the exceptional efforts of individuals, businesses, trade associations, chambers, and public sector agencies. These entities demonstrated outstanding commitment to driving pro-enterprise transformation, fostering collaboration, and supporting innovative business proposals.
Minister Gan Kim Yong, in his opening address, urged government agencies and businesses to foster close collaboration, ensuring Singapore remains the premier destination for business. He highlighted the importance of flexible regulations that support innovation from government agencies and encouraged businesses to explore new opportunities for local and global growth.
“Our role as a key business and connectivity hub has been an integral part of Singapore’s success story. Underpinning this has been our pro-enterprise regulations, which not only provide a safe and predictable environment for businesses, but also facilitates the test-bedding and trialing of innovative solutions. This is important in helping businesses to grow and scale their operations, in Singapore as well as overseas.
The balance between predictability and innovation is achieved through the close partnerships that the Government and industry have nurtured through the years. It is not something we should take for granted or take lightly. We must continue to deepen this collaboration to ensure we create a pro-enterprise environment, one that supports the ambition and growth of our businesses not just in Singapore, but globally.”
