In a distinguished ceremony at the Istana on 12 December 2023, President Tharman Shanmugaratnam extended a warm welcome to three newly appointed Ambassadors, each presenting their credentials in individual ceremonies.
His Excellency Ahmed Mostafa Abdelaal Mohamed
Ambassador to Singapore, Arab Republic of Egypt
Ambassador Ahmed Mostafa Abdelaal Mohamed, a career diplomat with 30 years of experience, assumes the role of Ambassador to Singapore from the Arab Republic of Egypt. His extensive career encompasses diplomatic service in Singapore, Ukraine, the UAE, and Ireland. Notable roles include Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Egypt’s Ambassador to Zambia, and Permanent Representative to the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa. Ambassador Mohamed is a graduate of Cairo University’s Faculty of Mass Communication.

Ambassador to Singapore, State of Kuwait
Ambassador Ahmad Abdulrahman Naser Al Shuraim, joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait in 2001, now assumes the role of Ambassador to Singapore. His career highlights include serving as Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister and diplomatic postings in Beijing, China, and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Ambassador Al Shuraim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Kuwait University.
