Singapore played a significant role as a partner country at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024. At the summit, a dedicated Singapore Pavilion was set up to showcase the strong presence of Singapore companies in the state. This pavilion featured nine companies, including DBS, Sembcorp, YCH, and Blue Planet, operating in diverse sectors such as finance, renewable energy, waste management, and logistics. These companies also planned to increase their investments in Gujarat.

Singapore’s High Commissioner to India, Simon Wong, led a delegation of officials and almost 100 business delegates to the VGGS. He delivered the opening remarks at the Singapore Seminar, held on January 10, 2024, where he discussed potential areas of mutual benefit between Gujarat and Singapore, including space collaboration and investment in new zones like GIFT City and the Dholera Special Investment Region.

Additionally, several new Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between Singapore companies and the Government of Gujarat. These MoUs underscored Singapore’s ongoing interest and confidence in seizing new opportunities in the state. The Singapore Business Federation, as the apex business chamber in Singapore, was entrusted by the Singapore Government to organize Singapore’s country pavilion at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show and Singapore’s country seminar at the VGGS. The presence of Singapore in the summit highlighted the strong investment ties and collaboration potentials between Singapore and Gujarat, reflecting a shared commitment to sustainable development and economic growth.
