Students from Nanyang Technological University showcase their creativity and collaboration in a dazzling musical production, marking the return of ICN after the pandemic hiatus.

Indonesian Cultural Night (ICN) 2024 successfully welcomed its esteemed guests to the highly anticipated second show, “Kaharsa: A Musical,” held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Drama Centre Theatre, National Library Building Bugis, Level 3.

Since its inception in 2007, ICN has served as a vital platform for Indonesian students at Nanyang Technological University, offering a space to explore, develop, and showcase their talents. After a hiatus due to the pandemic, ICN made a remarkable return with its 13th production, “Kaharsa: A Musical.”

The term “Kaharsa” originates from Sanskrit, meaning joy and happiness. The musical, set against the backdrop of Indonesia’s burgeoning music scene in the 1970s, follows the journey of Galih, played by Richard Fernando, as he seeks fame in Jakarta, only to discover that true fulfillment lies in embracing the present moment.

The success of “Kaharsa: A Musical” is attributed to the dedication of the committee members, sponsors, media partners, supporters, and donors. The hardworking team ensured a unique and marvelous adventure, creating an unforgettable experience for the audience.

The main cast, led by Richard Fernando as Galih and Joanna Chen as Laras, delivered powerful performances, bringing to life characters navigating the complexities of ambition, dreams, and familial bonds.
