Singapore Embassy collaborated with local groups to promote Lake Toba as a super-priority destination, showcasing cultural activities and investment opportunities
IN addition to participating in the NATAS Travel Fair 2024 at the Singapore Expo from 1st to 4th March 2024, the Embassy of Singapore has been involved in promoting tourism and the creative economy at Lake Toba with a series of activities that included exhibitions and the facilitation of a meeting of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy on 5th and 8th March 2024. In collaboration with the Singapore-Indonesia Cyclists Group (SICG) and supported by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, cycling activities, art and culture shows, and charity events were organized around the Lake Toba region.
This initiative coincided close to the F1 Power Boat championsip at Lake Toba, further enhancing the region’s appeal. Singaporean influencer Amira Rahmat was also among those contributed to promoting Lake Toba as a super-priority destination.
Singapore Summits
As part of the promotion of investment and cooperation in the tourism sector, Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, attended as a speaker at the UBS OneASEANSummit on 5th March 2024 and the Global Leadership Summit organised by Northeastern University on 8th March 2024 at the National Gallery Singapore. The Singapore Embassy accompanied Minister Sandiaga Uno and held a limited discussion forum with investors from UBS, OCBC, and other companies. Minister Sandiaga emphasized the importance of continued economic strengthening, especially during Indonesia’s leadership transition period.
