H.E Ms. Madiepetsane Charlote Lobe engages with MBA students from Wits Business School, showcasing Singapore’s success story and fostering business ties

ON Monday, 11th March 2024, the South African High Commissioner to Singapore, H.E Ms. Madiepetsane Charlote Lobe, welcomed a delegation of 18 MBA students from the Wits Business School on a Global Study Tour. This tour, integrated into the MBA program as a credited module, exposes students to international business practices. For the 2024 Academic Year, the program includes visits to Singapore and Malaysia, with a focus on the success story of Singapore.

H.E Ms Lobe delivered a comprehensive presentation on Singapore’s success story, its governance model, available opportunities for South Africa, and the existing collaborations between the two countries. The High Commission also invited Mr Mukundan from Nibiers Pte Ltd to present on the ease of doing business in Singapore. These presentations were followed by an insightful interactive session.

Following the briefing, the delegation, accompanied by H.E Ms Lobe, visited the Huawei AI Innovation Lab, where they were received by Mr Llewellan Vance, Startup Growth Strategist at Huawei Cloud Singapore. Huawei Cloud launched the Spark Incubator programme in 2022 in partnership with the Infocomm Media Development Authority’s (IMDA) PIXEL Innovation Hub. The programme targets early-stage Singapore-based start-ups in sectors such as FinTech, Web3, Metaverse, and Software as a Service (SaaS), aiming to support their growth to Series A and expansion in Singapore and the ASEAN region.
