The High Commissioner engages with the Indian maritime delegation in Singapore, exploring avenues for collaboration and cooperation.
THE High Commissioner of India to Singapore engaged with a comprehensive Indian delegation comprising the Indian Coast Guard (ICG), the Indian Foundation for Cooperation in the Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR), and the National Maritime Foundation (NMF), led by the Director-General of the Indian Coast Guard. The delegation was in Singapore for the 18th ReCAAP (Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia) Governing Council Meeting from 13-15 March 2024. India reaffirmed its commitment as a proactive contracting party to the organization.
Discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation and synergizing collaborative efforts between maritime agencies from India and ReCAAP to address maritime challenges and promote security and growth in the region. Additionally, the High Commissioner met with a delegation from the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) and explored avenues for collaboration with Singapore.
