The Rahmatan Lil Alamin Foundation (RLAF) has contributed a significant $6.1 million donation to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), funds generously gathered by the people of Singapore.

In a notable gesture of solidarity and support, the Rahmatan Lil Alamin Foundation (RLAF) has presented a cheque of $6.1 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). The funds, raised through the generous contributions of the Singapore public, were handed over by RLAF’s CEO, Mr. Muhammad Faizal Othman, in a ceremony that symbolized the collective empathy and commitment of the Singaporean community towards the Palestinian cause.

The significant event was witnessed by a group of distinguished guests, including Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Manpower, Mr. Zaqy Mohamed, and several Members of Parliament – Mr. Alex Yam, Mr. Gerald Giam, Ms. Nadia Ahmad Samdin, Ms. Rachel Ong, and Mr. Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim. Their presence underscored the importance of the contribution and the strong support for humanitarian efforts across governmental levels.

In conjunction with the donation, Minister Balakrishnan is set to embark on a diplomatic visit spanning several key Middle Eastern countries, including the Palestinian Territories, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, from the 18th to the 24th of March. Accompanied by the mentioned Members of Parliament and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit aims to strengthen diplomatic ties and further the cause of peace and stability in the region.
